Niels Ferdinand
Founder and Director
Niels is driven by a mission to leverage the power of the business sector as a vehicle for sustainable development.
With over 20 years in the consulting field, Niels has empowered numerous organizations on five continents to create positive sustainability impact. His areas of expertise include sustainability strategies, stakeholder engagement, mediation, climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable supply chain management, social standards and sustainable finance.
Niels leads various projects in developing countries focused on national Quality Infrastructure – including metrology, testing, standardization, certification and accreditation – all of which are critical for renewable energies, climate change monitoring and value chains, as well as for water and environmental management.
In 2007, Niels founded BSD Consulting Spain, the predecessor company of Ferdinand Consultants. He leads a practice team that designs and implements strategies and practices to create long-term stakeholder value and is focused on achieving positive SDG impact. Niels is a certified trainer of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and is trained in the assurance of sustainability reports according to AA1000AS.
Niels speaks three languages (Spanish, German and English).
Stephanie Binks
Consultant
Stephanie focuses on helping our clients in the areas of sustainability reporting, sustainability strategies, Quality Infrastructure and sustainable development projects. Additionally, she is an experienced project manager and ensures that projects stay on track with effective communication throughout.
Previously, Stephanie has supported clients across diverse industries with sustainability data management and reporting, auditing, training, strategic environmental assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
Stephanie speaks English and some Spanish.
Michael Hampel
Consultant
Michael focuses on corporate responsibility, sustainability reporting, strategies and the facilitation of stakeholder engagement processes. Additionally, he contributes to our international projects on Quality Infrastructure.
Previously, Michael has worked as ESG Lead as well as Environmental and Quality Manager. His expertise includes strategic advisory on corporate responsibility, ESG data management, sustainability communication, QHSE management systems and auditing.
Michael speaks German, English and Spanish.
Maria Llauradó Ricart
Junior Consultant
Maria supports our team with analysis, research tasks and stakeholder engagement, related to sustainability strategies and quality infrastructure projects.
Since 2022, she has gathered experience collaborating with stakeholders from Asia, Africa and Europe. She is involved in projects focused on international cooperation, climate change, renewable energy, quality infrastructure, and sustainability reporting. She has contributed to projects related to photovoltaics, green hydrogen, and quality in the supply chain.
Previously, Maria completed her Master’s in International Relations and gained valuable experience in development projects.
Maria speaks Spanish, Catalan, English, German and French.
Lorena Bao Gambirazio
Office Manager
Lorena apoya a nuestro equipo como Office Manager, asegurando el buen funcionamiento de las operaciones administrativas y financieras relacionadas con la coordinación de proyectos, la facturación, los informes y los procesos internos.
Con más de 11 años de experiencia como Office y Treasury Manager en empresas multinacionales en Perú, aporta una sólida experiencia en administración financiera, eficiencia de procesos y apoyo corporativo.
Su capacidad organizativa y atención al detalle ayudan a mantener la base operativa necesaria para una ejecución eficaz de los proyectos y un óptimo rendimiento del equipo.
Lorena domina el Español y el Inglés.
Katharina Telfser
Consultant
Katharina is a specialist in international cooperation projects, more specifically in quality infrastructure including metrology, testing, standardization, certification, inspection and accreditation.
She is a CALIDENA facilitator and has conducted several participatory studies on quality control in agricultural value chains.
In addition, Katharina has co-authored studies on quality infrastructure for renewable energy with a focus on photovoltaics, as well as climate change mitigation and adaptation. She also has experience in sustainability reporting, impact assessment and intercultural communication.
Katharina speaks German, English, French, Spanish and Italian.
Bart Slob
Senior Consultant
Bart focuses on sustainable and inclusive business. He works actively with governments, public authorities, civil society organisations and companies to promote and ensure responsible business behaviour. He has developed and implemented environmental, social and governance risk management systems for organisations in both developed and developing countries. He is also a certified and experienced social auditor.
Since the early 2000s he has been involved in policy development in the field of sustainable business. He has advised companies, governments and NGOs on corporate social responsibility, responsible supply chain management, sustainable public procurement, fair trade and private sector development.
